Abstract: This talk will offer a brief introduction to the history, conceptual development, and contemporary challenge of interdisciplinarity in the Euro-American context, taking the interdiscipline of Science, Technology, and Society (STS) Studies as an example.
摘要：本讲座将以科学、技术和社会学科为例，简要介绍欧美背景下交叉科学的历史、发展和面临的挑战。
Bionote：Carl Mitcham is Professor Emeritus of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences at Colorado School of Mines and previous director of the Science, Technology, and Society Program at Pennsylvania State University. He is the editor of Encyclopedia of Science, Technology, and Ethics (4 vols. 2005, 2ndedition 2015) and the co-editor the Oxford Handbook of Interdisciplinarity (2010, 2nd edition 2017).
嘉宾简介：卡尔·米切姆教授是科罗拉多矿业学院人文、艺术和社会科学荣誉退休教授，曾任宾夕法尼亚州立大学科学、技术和社会项目主任。他是《科学、技术和伦理百科全书》(4卷，2005年，2015年第2版)的编辑和《牛津交叉科学手册》(2010年，2017年第2版)的联合编辑。
