Institute of Pacific Economics Holds the 5th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation and China Forum

On the morning of December 30th, Institute of Pacific Economics, Renmin University of China, held the 5th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation and China Forum in Mingde Main Building. Japanese Prime Minister’s special adviser, and advisor to the Ministry of Finance, Asakawa Masatsugu, gave a report on “World Economic Development’s New Direction”.

The report was based around “ Sino-US trade friction, Us economic trends, Chinese economic developments, and Europe’s economic situation”. He then gave an explanation for the modern world economic development patterns. Asakawa explained the main business policies of Trump in relation to the Chinese American economic conflict. He then analyzed the American, Chinese, Europe, and recent German economic situation.

During the question and answer, the audience asked questions about digital trade, and Asakawa gave great detailed answers based on his many years of political financial work experience.
